Jounce Behaviors

Nov 8, 2010 at 2:10 PM

Hello Jeremy,

I am currently evaluating Jounce for use with an enterprise Silverlight application.  Your library very nicely accommodates most of our design goals for a MVVM library including MEF integration and a small code footprint. My question pertains to behaviors.  Do you intend to incorporate support for Non-ButtonBase event handling (similar to MVVM Light's EventToCommand)?   Should we implement attached behaviors to address this need?

Thank you.

That is great to hear and I hope you'll keep me in the loop with how it works out and let me know of any questions that may come up.

I've always been a fan of the functionality that comes out of the box with the Blend SDK. This is available either via Blend, or via a download of the free SDK even if you don't have Blend. Out of the box they provide behaviors such as InvokeCommand that can be bound to any control and any event and wired up to an IActionCommand (there is also invokemethod). Because these are available and out of the box, I didn't see the need to implement my own for Jounce.

Jeremy,

Thank you for your prompt response.  I will certainly confer with you during the development of our application.  I have always found your blog posts to be very helpful when solving particular problems that arise when designing substantial applications.
